• •Songs: Song titles and notes you add to your library are stored to personalize your practice.
• •Audio input: FretWise uses your device microphone to detect guitar pitches in real time. Audio is processed locally in your browser and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to our servers.
• •Usage data: We may collect anonymous analytics about how you use the app to improve features and fix issues.

How We Use Your Information

• •To provide the core trainer, tuner, and quiz features.
• •To save and display your practice history and progress.
• •To send important account-related notifications (such as password resets).
• •To improve the app through aggregated, anonymized analytics.

Microphone Access

• •FretWise requests microphone access solely to detect the pitch of your guitar in real time for the trainer, tuner, and quiz modes.
• •Audio analysis happens entirely on your device using the Web Audio API. No audio is sent to or stored on our servers.
• •You can revoke microphone access at any time through your browser or device settings.

Data Sharing

• •We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• •We do not share your data with third parties except as required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Retention & Deletion

• •Your practice data and song library are retained as long as your account is active.
• •You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed.

Security

• •We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and secure authentication.
• •No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we do our best to protect your information.

Children's Privacy

• •FretWise is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights
